Denmark: Music to close Guantánamo

USA: Join the protest in front of the White House

On 11 January, activists will rise up in Washington D.C. against illegal detentions at Guantánamo and elsewhere.

This action is part of a worldwide protest denouncing torture and unlawful detentions. At U.S. embassies and other prominent locations around the world, including Great Britain, the Netherlands, Spain, Ireland and Greece, activists will gather to call for the closure of Guantánamo and the end of illegal US detentions.

UK: Orange boiler suits in London, Belfast and Edinburgh

11 January Join us in calling for the closure of the military prison at Guantánamo Bay as we mark the 6th anniversary of the first ‘war on terror’ detainees being transported to the camp. Join the protest in London, Belfast and Edinburgh.

Australia: The largest jumpsuit action ever

Amnesty International will kick off 2008 with the largest orange jumpsuit action in Australia. It will take place outside the US Consulate in Martin Place, Sydney.
