‘Hands up for your rights’ - Youth activism in Mongolia
On October 4, AI Mongolia launched their youth programme for UDHR60 named ‘Hands up for your rights’ with the Freedom Parade.’ The event was organized by nearly 80 youth/students group members and 40 students from other youth organisations. Thousands of people were involved the event.
During the event, youth members organized the action to sign the “Close Guantanamo” petition and submitted it to the USA Embassy in Mongolia. They distributed the Counter terror with justice campaign materials, dressed up in orange boilersuits and raised awareness on the issues of rendition, torture and other ill-treatment, and demanded the closure of the US detention facility at Guantanamo Bay. Watch more pictures of the action

Report back from the “Birthday” demo outside Downing Street yesterday: really good atmosphere with about 50 people making lots of noise, chanting “Bring Binyam home” and “Stop Guantanamo Bay”.
Activists in Sydney, Australia, organized an action to demand that governments reaffirm that torture is never acceptable.
